I was walking up to my room @ the Venetian. The halls leading to the rooms is something like an octagon with paths going different directions. Quite tricky to navigate when you are intoxicated. I had not started yet when I meet this girl hanging out on one of the couches there. It was an odd setting. She was laying there by herself without shoes on. Living in Las Vegas for awhile makes you weary of these things. When a chick is alone in a hotel hallway... it's usually a bad night for her. Or she's a prostitute that got kicked out of a room. Whatev. She stared and smiled at me while I walked by her. I said hello to be polite. I walked into my room and get freshened up to get my night started. I wanted it to be a chill night[but that NEVER happens]. I walk out and she was still there. It was obvious that she wanted company. I start [small]talking to her and she seemed nice enough. I ask about her shoe situation and she gives me a half answer. She needed to go back to her room to get it[she asks me to wait for her]. Ok cool. I thought it was weird that she did not invite me in her room. I think I look harmless. People feel comfortable around me[when I want them to feel comfortable]. LOL. Maybe her boyfriend was sleeping in there. I don't know. I wait on the middle couch and start to get restless. I don't like waiting. I bounce and meet the homie at the bar. If the girl is smart, she will know how to find me. She did NOT find me at the bar. Hahaha.

We ended up getting thrashed. [What else is new?] I run in to some Cali folks. These were high school friends but I was too f*cked up... I could not recall most of the names. They remembered me but I did not recognize one face. F*cking Jerk. We leave that particular popsicle stand and walk into Tao. Right when I was about to walk up the stairs; I feel someone hugging me from behind. Surprise, surprise! It was the girl from the hallway. The first words out of her mouth was about having an early flight out. [???] I don't like to be THAT messed up when I'm entertaining. When I started hanging out with her... I was already LIT! I got to know her more and she ended up being really interesting. We drink some more and I take her to the dance floor............................... I watch her dance and I realize that there was not enough alcohol in that club to make me want to hook up with her. It was the biggest turn-off. I make fun of white girls not having any rhythm but this was beyond offbeat. She was cute too. It was downhill after that.

I've been blogging so much this year that BLOGGER won't accept my photo uploads anymore. With over 1000 posts, I don't blame Google at all. I guess FLICKR will get my business in 2010. Happy New Year, Folks!

There are many Las Vegas alternatives. Say we want some hot dogs... since Pink's is not very good here; we can get Nathan's. For carne asada fries... we have Roberto's instead of Alberto's. [Though I found other more authentic Mexican joints around my neighborhood.]

The alternative to the Boiling Crab is a place called Hot & Juicy Crawfish. The place is good but not great. Their sauce lacks that one ingredient that the Boiling Crab perfected. And Hot & Juicy is not consistent. We order mild sauces and it comes out as fire[AND VICE VERSA]. The big plus about the place is that the condiments are plenty. They have all a filipino house would have and it makes me feel right at home.

The next thing I need to find is a a good bacon wrapped hot dog cart.

Have you ever listened to someone talk about nonesense? You know the type that just talks and talks and talks but nothing useful is coming out of their hole. And when you've had about enough... you see the person across from you with that "look". That superannoyed look that says Shut The F*ck Up!! already. I was in this situation. It is no secret that some people in the group are feuding right now. Well........ Feuding is not the right word but full on talking sh*t and hating each others guts! [HAHAHA!] We try to stay out of the way and never take sides. But it divides the group most times. Some people don't share where they've been the night before because it might hurt some feelings. Lame I know... grown people should not be acting like this. Sh*t happens though; so, I can't blame. People vent and it's natural. Each side have their points. As long as they don't try to involve me in the drama, I'm willing to listen.

My next point is the most important. IDGAF what they say about each other. It doesn't make me like or dislike the other more. I would like to think that people can make up their own minds and form their own opinions. We are not in high school anymore. Cliques were ghey then... I would not know what to say about it if it existed now.

Let me just say that I will hang out with the ones that make me laugh the most. Fair? LOL.

Last friday started out late @ the Getback. Saw familiar faces and hung out with fam from California. [Side note: What's the deal with striped button-ups, blue jeans, and black dress shoes?? Is that the uniform for Cali tourists??] Anyway... when I hang with Kat; I seem to be more messed up than usual. It's probably because any liqour she drinks is straight up :|. We chill at the Beauty Bar for a bit until we get 86'd. One of Kat's cousins decide to throw up in a trash can in front of a bouncer. Whatevs. It was closing time anyway.

We leave DTLV and head back to the strip to meet with Kat's friends. They had a suite @ the Palms that was too sick. I'm definitely getting a room there for a mini vacay. We had more drinks at the bar before we go to their room. Mayhem ensues.

Went to a local rib spot in the southside. The menu was basic and the food had that familiar smokey flavor as ribs should taste. I am more accustomed to LA rib joints where the recipes are sweeter. The sauce at Memphis had a strong vinegar taste to it. Good but not fantastic.

Dee and eye had a crazy craving for shrimp and crab last week. I wanted to go for cajun cause I was too tired to cook. She said she would do all the work if I bought the ingredients. Deal, sonn! We went to our local Asian market and shopped for the stuff.

Here's a fun fact: Asian markets will fry up any fish that you purchase from them.

We head to Henderson to check out a friend's new pad and decided to cook there. Thing I notice about Dee is that she cooks with margarine instead of butter. Ok. People are different. I cook with butter. She sauteed the shrimp and it had this surprising smokey flavor[my mouth is watering]. Sh*t was soo good. The dungeness crab was cooked to perfection as well[salivating no joke]. Soo fatty. I got so excited eating the thing that I sliced my thumb with the shell. It was pretty deep but didn't notice until I washed my hands. My clothes smelled like a filipino house and hands like shrimp the whole night. Soo worth it.

Fred calls me up and tells me that the crew is at the karaoke spot. Kat was in town; so, I tell her to meet me up. She said she was coming with her sisters... THE TWINS! Kat gets lost like alot and gets to the spot with only half a twin. I promised the boys a pair... they were disappointed no doubt. I was already a little tipsy from the head start. Cool. Let us really drink then. Kat is a no joke drinker. When I was at the VBar with her last... she was drinking vodka straight up. Gangster. At this point people were dancing on tables and girls were kissing each other[not really as cool as it sounds]. I meet a bunch of people and forget their names as soon as I turn around. I'm soo bad at retaining names. I have to work on that.

It was dying out at Boomerangs but the girls still felt like partying. We parted ways with the homies and head to the Red Rock. That place is always dead now. Who hangs out at local casinos? Better yet, someone tell me which local casino is poppin on a weekend. Very curious[NO BRUNO].

We walk into Cherry and it was deceased. Cherry has a SAD crowd. Anyway. Here are the photos from that night.

We went to Carl's restaurant near Summerlin and had a tour of Italia. The food was very good for the price point. I had the angel hair pasta with a white wine sauce. Delish! Doreen had a linguini and seafood with a red sauce. Nothing spectacular.
